The first week of vacation was great right? Tons to do around the house, Christmas gifts to play with… family in town. But now your kids are marching around the house blowing on a $.25 whistle their grandmother gave them and screaming about how the other one is looking at them. No? Only me? Yeah, I didn’t think so…
This mama is tired and needs something for my kids to do to keep them busy and my house less of a hazard zone. You too?
The Palm Beach Zoo is hosting a Winter Zoo Camp this week. The reason I love camp at the Zoo is it’s not just a camp where your kids are going to sit and space out behind a “screen” of some sort. They are out and active. Working with the zookeepers to learn about the animals, their habitats and how they can help creatures that are smaller than they are.
I’m always looking for ways to expose my boys to as much as I can, that they might not get just from reading about it in a book. Plus, remember Palm Beach County Schools don’t return until the 8th. The zoo camp is open on Monday the 7th too… so you don’t have to worry about that lone Monday.
“Winter Break Camp combines our top-rated activities into one fun-filled week,” said Kelly Miller, Education Programs Manager at the Zoo. “There’s a new adventure to explore every single day.”

I mean… look at this face. I love that he is able to spend his vacation time learning about things that he loves instead of being cooped up at home.
Memories like this are only created by being a part of it.
Winter Break Camp runs January 2-4 and January 7 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. but they have before care that starts at 8:15am and aftercare that lasts until 5:00pm. So no matter what your work hours are, this will work.
Camp participants will experience up-close animal encounters, zoo keeping activities, animal habitat visits, behind-the-scenes tours, games, crafts, science experiments, carousel rides, and enriching conservation education activities.
