Jurassic World Live Tour – For the Dino Lover In Us All

I was in 5th grade when the first Jurassic Park came out. I still remember the excitement and buzz around that movie and actually remember going to the theatre to see it.

I still call Jurassic World – Jurassic Park… I’m sure all of us 80’s babies do that too.

I had no idea that Jurassic Park Live Tour was really a thing.. but now I’m so glad I do. Watching my kids watch the dinos was awesome. The fun part is the storyline always starts back at the beginning, so almost anyone can follow along. They already have a connection with the dinosaurs.

There were times throughout the show they asked if the dinosaurs were real, and I had to remind myself that they were just very large robotic puppets.

They had a completely new storyline for this show and while Blue does make an appearance, Owen does not. My oldest kept asking when Owen was coming out  and I kept reminding him it wasn’t the same, although they do refer to him throughout the new plot.

I will say there were times throughout the show that the dinosaurs were so loud, it was mighty convincing that they were real. If your child has a sensitivity to bright lights, explosions and loud sounds you may want to keep that in mind.

Something else to know and keep in mind with the show. There is a lot of physical fighting. The same that you might expect in a superhero or dinosaur movie, but this is right in front of them…in real life. I started wondering if there were other ways the two sides could “fight” each other without actually fighting THAT MUCH. I don’t know how many other parents feel that same way. My boys aren’t allowed to fight like that at home, so I needed to remind them that these were just actors and no one was really getting hurt.

If you have a Twitter account, make sure to snap a quick pic and #jurassicworldlivetour – we do this with a lot of the Feld Entertainment shows we attend and it’s fun watching for your picture to pop up during intermission.

Our intermission came about 40 minutes into the show, and lasted for about 10 minutes give or take.

Another fun family night… and we will for sure go back and see it again the next time it’s in town.
