Screen Free Car Activities for your Kids

Keeping your kids occupied and happy in the car is hard. The older they get, I’m hoping it may get easier… but honestly, right now it feels like a job.

Screen-free that is. I know that there are tons of apps that would probably save my sanity, as well as the DVD players that go around the headrests. But I want my kids to look out the window. To be bored. To listen to the radio. To ask questions. To see something they have never seen before. Continue reading “Screen Free Car Activities for your Kids”

What You Want To Know About The Disney Junior Dance Party – Hollywood Studios

Most weekends when we head out to Walt Disney World, you’ll find us at Magic Kingdom. I feel like that park has more to offer for younger kids… but I’m loving that Hollywood Studios has been adding Disney Junior selections.

We thought this would be the perfect getaway for a toddler birthday celebration.  Since we only have birthday parties every other year (I’ll post about that later), this was a great party alternative. Continue reading “What You Want To Know About The Disney Junior Dance Party – Hollywood Studios”

Spring Break Camp – The Palm Beach Zoo

One of the things I honestly never thought about before becoming a parent was where my kids were going to go on non-school days. It’s not on any parenting list, they just show up. I loved those random days as a kid… something fun and different, but now as a parent I’m like … OK… another day that I need to plan.

It can be a bit stressful. Where are they going to go? How are they going to get there? How will it change our schedule? AND… how do I keep them away from screens (which is a problem I’m encountering more and more).

Winter Zoo Camp – Palm Beach Zoo

The first week of vacation was great right? Tons to do around the house, Christmas gifts to play with… family in town. But now your kids are marching around the house blowing on a $.25 whistle their grandmother gave them and screaming about how the other one is looking at them. No? Only me? Yeah, I didn’t think so…

This mama is tired and needs something for my kids to do to keep them busy and my house less of a hazard zone. You too? Continue reading “Winter Zoo Camp – Palm Beach Zoo”

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer – The Musical

As my boys are getting older, I love finding new experiences to expose them too. It’s probably one of my favorite things. To see the excitement and wonder in their eyes at even the smallest things.

Up until now, I have been hesitant to take them to anything “stage” related. I didn’t think they were ready. Maybe I wasn’t ready to take them. How long can they sit quietly? What if they can’t see what’s happening? How many bathroom trips will we need to take? So many questions. Continue reading “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer – The Musical”

How We Halloween

I’ll be completely transparent with you. I start planning for Halloween as soon as 4th of July passes. I know for some that is way too early to start thinking about the end of October, but for me it can’t come soon enough.

I’m totally in love with all things fall. It’s absolutely my favorite time of year. The tricky thing is I live in South Florida. It is still pretty warm considering the year is coming to an end. On good days we drop out of the 90’s. Continue reading “How We Halloween”
