There was no doubt in my mind, that if we traveled to Pennsylvania this summer we would absolutely visit Hershey, PA. I have never been, and although it was a little out of the way of our Pittsburgh route, it was a non negotiable.
I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t know too much about it. I had done a bit of research but there were so many “Hershey” themed attractions when I googled it… I didn’t know what we were actually going to. Have you ever heard of Kennywood? If you know anyone from Pennsylvania you probably have. It is part of so many kids childhoods, including my husband’s and his entire family.
His entire family goes to Kennywood every summer, and every Christmas. It is just something people from the Burgh do. It is a staple there. I will admit, I am a bit jealous we haven’t been there for Christmas yet. Maybe in a few years. Continue reading “I have no souvenirs from Kennywood… and here’s why…”
I’m a mom. You know what that means? It means somewhere along the way I have stopped putting myself first. It happens. I feel like it happens to anyone who starts chasing after tiny feet. We are more consumed with the health and wellness than ours. That is the definition of MOM.
But this mom is running on empty a good deal these days. That’s why I said this summer was the summer of self care. It’s something I’ve been desperately needing.

As an educator and parenting blogger – I get asked all the time from other parents, “How can I help my kids at home?”
Parents… I promise, it’s not as hard as it sounds. Play. Read. Enjoy your evenings together. Don’t stress about it, and find ways to simply have fun. Find what your kids are interested in and use it to your advantage.
Here are my favorites this month that can help celebrate small moments as well as help support what is happening in the classroom.

Most weekends when we head out to Walt Disney World, you’ll find us at Magic Kingdom. I feel like that park has more to offer for younger kids… but I’m loving that Hollywood Studios has been adding Disney Junior selections.
We thought this would be the perfect getaway for a toddler birthday celebration. Since we only have birthday parties every other year (I’ll post about that later), this was a great party alternative. Continue reading “What You Want To Know About The Disney Junior Dance Party – Hollywood Studios”

As my boys are getting older, I love finding new experiences to expose them too. It’s probably one of my favorite things. To see the excitement and wonder in their eyes at even the smallest things.
Up until now, I have been hesitant to take them to anything “stage” related. I didn’t think they were ready. Maybe I wasn’t ready to take them. How long can they sit quietly? What if they can’t see what’s happening? How many bathroom trips will we need to take? So many questions. Continue reading “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer – The Musical”
