So after we built our fire pit in the back yard I was trying to come up with new and different ideas for foods to make over the fire. I have to give credit to this idea to my friend Laura who is currently camping across the country this summer. I saw this on her Instastories and knew I needed to make this on our recent stay on the farm. Continue reading “Campfire Eclairs – Perfect for Your Kids to Make”
I was shocked when I posted a poll on Instagram about Jello 123 and most people had no idea what I was talking about. How is this even possible? One of my favorite memories was spending a full day outside soaking in the summer sun, coming in for dinner and knowing that dessert was Jello 123.
Apparently they stopped making in in the mid 90’s… Booooo
I’m a mom. You know what that means? It means somewhere along the way I have stopped putting myself first. It happens. I feel like it happens to anyone who starts chasing after tiny feet. We are more consumed with the health and wellness than ours. That is the definition of MOM.
But this mom is running on empty a good deal these days. That’s why I said this summer was the summer of self care. It’s something I’ve been desperately needing.
Every year around the same time Publix (our grocery store in Florida) comes out with their Key Lime Pie commercials. I was never really a fan of Key Lime Pie simply because I never had it around as a kid. I think it just didn’t exist in my world until I moved to South Florida.
Meatless Monday isn’t really a thing around here. Every day is meatless for me. 🙂 But even with that sometimes I get into a rut with my meatless selections. I do love eggplant though. So when our awesome across the street neighbor brought over these eggplants I knew I wanted to use them in tacos. Continue reading “Eggplant Street Tacos – Meatless Monday”
Valentine’s Day is one of those holidays that people LOVE or hate, simple because they can’t think of what to give or what to do.
Have no fear… here are a few simple and fun ideas to make sure your Valentine’s Day is one to remember.
Do you ever wake up one morning and have absolutely no idea it was supposed to rain all day? I even looked at other places around the state to go. 75% of Florida was covered in water, so staying in and working around the house seemed like the thing to do.
With as much as I am a sugar addict… I know when there is too much in my house. I also know I have to get it out as quickly as possible.
This candy has become a problem.
The kids ask for it every day, I eat it every day… and somehow it hasn’t made a dent in it. I’m swimming in sugary candy goodness. It’s a love-hate relationship. Continue reading “Candy Cookies – Make These Tonight”
Looking for a super simple new recipe to include in your kiddos lunchbox? Then here you go. Seriously ANYONE can make these. It’s almost the same way you would make rice Krispy treats except for completely different ingredients and a completely different flavor. Although, you could make these with peanut butter… almond butter has such a sweeter flavor, that makes them that much more special and delicious. When I saw that National S’mores Day was this week I had no other choice than to think about what type of s’mores goodness I could make. I is still way too hot in South Florida to actually enjoy going out and making them the classic way, so that option was off the table.
What I could do was make a S’mores cake. I say cake loosely because it really just is a fancy brownie. So I guess you could say I made a S’mores brownie cake. Continue reading “S’mores Cake”
