I have absolutely fallen in love with history. The history I’m surrounded by on a daily basis. The history that I walk by, drive by, and live by but yet have no idea what it really is.
I thought I knew. I mean, I think we all want to believe we know what has happened around us, but there is always something new to find out. Something new to uncover or simply to understand.
Have you ever had a conversation with someone who is such an amazing storyteller that it immediately makes you want to learn more about their stories? That’s what happened on our first night in Tampa Bay.

As a parent I try and make each holiday as memorable as I can. This includes a lot of activities at home, but I also love going out into my community and finding ways to add magic to our days.
The more I have done this I can say a lot of things I have found are sadly underwhelming. I do love that my kids can see past the flaws I may see and find the good. I absolutely love that.
But this experience gave ME chills. Literal goosebumps. Multiple times.

I am in charge of Christmas food every year… I love it. Our Christmas plans are staying home all day, playing with toys and eating yummy food.
I’m not sure why I wait all year until Christmas Day to make foods like this.

We started this tradition last year. It is the easiest tradition to add into your celebrations.
I mean I love any type of handprint art and this is something we can add on to year after year.
I found this burlap tree skirt on Amazon (linked) but you can really use a solid one you already have, or pick one that fits your colors. Continue reading “Holiday Handprints – Add This To Your Tree The Year”
Saturday mornings are made for baking. It is cloudy and overcast in South Florida at the moment as another Tropical Storm rolls through, so it makes the perfect morning for these to easy to be true Pumpkin Muffins. Continue reading “Two Ingredient Pumpkin Muffins – WW Friendly”
I know technically it is still September, and for a lot of people that is still too early for Halloween anything. Around my house Halloween starts at the end of August.

I have no idea what made me think of this recipe. It is one of those things that I know I made in Home Ec ages ago and loved… but isn’t something I think I have ever made since.
Sidenote: is there still a such thing as Home Ec?
One of my favorite parts about this “salad”, I use that word loosely, is the crunch on top. Normally in the past I would have used Doritos… but since discovering Fit Crunch Protein Puffs, I have fallen in love with them and the protein they offer. They are the perfect compliment to this meal.

Hurricane Dorian. Heard of it?
She has really put a hiccup in my plans for this week. Honestly, my plans for this month.
We evacuated… and now it feels like it will be forever until we get back home. Continue reading “Rainy Day Ideas- Cookies and Tinkering”
I feel like I’m almost a pro at what to take to Disney. We have gone at least a dozen times in the past few months and I don’t see it slowing down anytime soon.
Because we go so often, I keep a Disney bag packed and ready to go. Honestly our plans were cancelled yesterday so instead we just loaded up and drove to Disney. The bag was already ready. Continue reading “Olive The Things You Must Have In Your Disney Bag”
I have seen my fair share of children’s books. Working in an elementary school for almost 10 years, you can imagine how many books I have gone through and recommended for little ones.
When Literati wanted to send a kit for me to try out with my 7 year old of course I said yes. I mean… I do have a love affair with all books. Especially #kidlit. But I wasn’t quite sure what to expect.
What do you look for when shopping for your kids? What books do you look for shopping for your classroom? Continue reading “Literati – Premiere Book Club for Children”
