I don’t think I ever learned about solar power in school. I feel like as I’ve gotten older it has become something more real. More attainable and something both of my boys will learn about as a legitamate source of energy. Continue reading “Solar Power and Kids – How A Trip To The Park Can Mean More…”
Am I the only one who can’t believe the school year is here!?!
Teachers report back to school next week in South Florida, and the students the week after that.
Meet the Teacher happens next week and it can be nerve racking on multiple levels. Parents are nervous, kids are nervous and YES… teachers are nervous too.
When Disney reached out to partner with us for a playdate I couldn’t stop jumping up and down. Seriously!!! Of course we would love to host a playdate party.
But then, I started overthinking. Where would it be, who would we invite, what theme would we decorate?
So after we built our fire pit in the back yard I was trying to come up with new and different ideas for foods to make over the fire. I have to give credit to this idea to my friend Laura who is currently camping across the country this summer. I saw this on her Instastories and knew I needed to make this on our recent stay on the farm. Continue reading “Campfire Eclairs – Perfect for Your Kids to Make”
There was no doubt in my mind, that if we traveled to Pennsylvania this summer we would absolutely visit Hershey, PA. I have never been, and although it was a little out of the way of our Pittsburgh route, it was a non negotiable.
I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t know too much about it. I had done a bit of research but there were so many “Hershey” themed attractions when I googled it… I didn’t know what we were actually going to. Have you ever heard of Kennywood? If you know anyone from Pennsylvania you probably have. It is part of so many kids childhoods, including my husband’s and his entire family.
His entire family goes to Kennywood every summer, and every Christmas. It is just something people from the Burgh do. It is a staple there. I will admit, I am a bit jealous we haven’t been there for Christmas yet. Maybe in a few years. Continue reading “I have no souvenirs from Kennywood… and here’s why…”
I was shocked when I posted a poll on Instagram about Jello 123 and most people had no idea what I was talking about. How is this even possible? One of my favorite memories was spending a full day outside soaking in the summer sun, coming in for dinner and knowing that dessert was Jello 123.
Apparently they stopped making in in the mid 90’s… Booooo
I’m a mom. You know what that means? It means somewhere along the way I have stopped putting myself first. It happens. I feel like it happens to anyone who starts chasing after tiny feet. We are more consumed with the health and wellness than ours. That is the definition of MOM.
But this mom is running on empty a good deal these days. That’s why I said this summer was the summer of self care. It’s something I’ve been desperately needing.
Being a parent is hard. But honestly being a kid these days isn’t a walk in in the park. There are a million different things headed their way and as a parent, that scares me to death.
I’m already one of those moms that works at the same school as one son… and in one more year, hopefully both of my boys will be there. Don’t worry though, I’m not one of those moms that hovers. I just watch them from afar.
I’ve lived in South Florida for almost 20 years.
1) I honestly can’t believe it’s been that long.
2) I honestly can’t believe I didn’t know amount this gem until just recently.
